Port of Long Beach, CA Security Management Platform, Networking and Consulting

This contract illustrates the ENDEAVOR ADVANCED SOLUTIONS team member’s individual experience with the Port of Long Beach as lead designers, integrators, and commissioning agents for the Security Management Platform, a port-wide Fiber Optic communications infrastructure and advanced information technology consulting. The project represented a significant milestone as it integrated 14 different security platforms into a single user interface, provided secure reliable high bandwidth connectivity throughout the port and helped drive the ports 5 year plan.

Summary of Work Performed:

The Port of Long Beach is one of the world's busiest seaports, a leading gateway for trade between the United States and Asia. Long Beach is the second busiest port in the United States and overall, the 12th busiest container cargo port in the world. The project represented a significant milestone as it integrated 14 different security platforms into a single user interface, provided secure reliable high bandwidth connectivity throughout the port and helped drive the ports 5 year plan.

Port Security Issues:

Provide a user platform that integrated various port security systems including 3 Video Management Platforms, Access Control, Computer Aided Dispatch, Radar and more. The port also required a secure communications infrastructure to share data with various stakeholders.

Technology:

The projects highlights include deployment of Proximex PSIM and the integration to each of the various security platforms. Design of a Metropolitan Wide Area Network utilizing Cisco Systems service provider hardware to create a Secure MPLS Network.

Port of Houston, Texas Wireless CCTV & E.S.I.M.S. Project

This contract illustrates the ENDEAVOR ADVANCED SOLUTIONS team members’s individual experience with the Port of Houston as a contributing designer and integrator of port-wide wireless communications infrastructure and “IP” CCTV security networking with the Electronic Sercurity Information Management System application. The Secuirity Engineer members were responsible for the overall system integration and provided feasability studies as well as design recommendations to the prime, as well as providing integration engineering consulting and support for the E.S.I.M.S. project.

Summary of Work Performed:

In support of a various Homeland Security initiatives funded by several TSA Grants, the Security Engineers provided extensive design, engineering, and integration services to the Port-Wide security project for both CCTV and Access Control. The project encompasses a wide area network connecting the terminals along the 27 mile shipping channel and unites the various terminal facilities into a security information network. The Port of Houston is the sixth largest port facility worldwide and plays a vital role in the nation’s economy.

Port Security Issues:

PHA needed to utilize both access control, CCTV, sensors and other IT based technology solutions to address security requirements in the Port community. Given the proximity to downtown metropolitan Houston, as well as vital petrochemical facilities, the first responders needed to be able to make effective and timely critical security decisions dependent upon the data produced by these multiple systems. The Port recognized that a manageable user interface tool was required to unify the systems: E.S.I.M.S. The Port’s prime contractor turned to ENDEAVOR ADVANCED SOLUTIONS personnel for support on the E.S.I.M.S. integration from the standpoint of the infrastructure support and integration. Additionally, the team provided support and expert services to the software publishers.

Technology:

The projects highlights include the successful deployment of the E.S.I.M.S. platform on the PHA WAN and terminal LAN. In addition our team supported the deployment of Verint Nextiva Video Management, AMAG Access Control, Object Video Analytics, Radar, and CBRNe Sensors.

Port of Beaumont Texas Wireless CCTV & IVS Project

This contract illustrates the ENDEAVOR ADVANCED SOLUTIONS teams member’s individual experience with the Port of Beaumont as a contributing designer and integrator of port-wide wireless communications infrastructure and “IP” CCTV security networking with Intelligent Video provided by Object Video. The Secuirity Engineer members were responsible for the overall system integration and provided feasability studies as well as design recommendations to the prime. The project overall included camera-based surveillance and wireless communications equipment, and integration with other port data network services, and application engineering.

Summary of Work Performed:

In 2005, the Port of Beaumont received grant funding for two Wireless networking and CCTV projects, which were completed by the Engineer. The total projects exceeded $800,000. The Port of Beaumont maintains complete facilities to handle a variety of cargo, including, but not limited to, Forest Products, Grains, Project Cargo, Military, Bagged Goods, Aggregate, Metals, and Wood Chips. THE ENGINEER’s responsibilities for these projects was to design, engineer, and install wireless network as well as fixed infrastructure for the CCTV surveillance project. Services included configuring and installing cameras, including PTZ, full color, and thermal long range, and to create the network head end and provision the new COC. Initially, the team was recommended to the project by the IVS manufacturer, Object Video, and subsequently, the team also set up the Intelligent Video, and trained the end-users. The project also included all aspects of IT security services.

Port Security Issues:

To upgrade the existing CCTV security system, to extend its capabilities with Object Video’s Intelligent Video solution, to add new cameras via the design, engineering, and installation of a wireless local area security network.

Technology:

The projects highlights include wireless point to point and multipoint networking, thermal imaging and traditional CCTV cameras, and the installation of an integrated user interface.
